Maruti Suzuki is working on making a new plant spread over 1000 acres. It’ll have a production capacity of 10 lakh cars per annum.

India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is working on making a new plant in Haryana on an investment of about 18000 crore rupees.

The new plant will be spread over an area of 1000 acres.

Maruti Suzuki chairman R. C. Bhargava said the talks with the Haryana government are in the last stages and, some details are being sorted out.

Maruti’s oldest plant is in Gurugram, spread over 300 acres. But, the company is facing space constraints as the plant is located nearby a residential area.

Bhargava said the company is keen to shift to a new location within Haryana itself and doesn’t want to move outside the state.

The Haryana government has mandated that any new plant and the industrial unit must have 75 percent recruits from the state itself.

Bhargava said the company is in talks with the Haryana government to find a way out of this bottleneck.

The Times of India reported on this recent development in Maruti Suzuki.
