New York Times has posted a job description that shows its hatred towards India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a very unusual job posting on Tuesday, the New York Times provides a description that competes with a propaganda article.
The New York Times laid bare its deep hatred for the Indian culture, tradition, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a job posting on Tuesday (June 29).
The newspaper advertised a vacancy for a Delhi-based business reporter who is supposed to cover some neighboring countries too.
Passing a sweeping judgment, it wrote, “Mr. Modi is advocating a self-sufficient, muscular nationalism centered on the country’s Hindu majority.”
There is no reference to substantiate this claim.
In his seven years as the country’s prime minister, PM Modi has talked about ‘Sabka saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ countless times.
But the newspaper does not stop here. It adds, “That vision puts him at odds with the interfaith, multicultural goals of modern India’s founders.”
It further criticizes the Modi government for policing online speech by saying, “The government’s growing efforts to police online speech and media discourse have raised difficult questions about balancing issues of security and privacy with free speech.”
The Modi government has been asking the social media and tech companies to follow the laws of the land, which is the right of any sovereign country.
And it notes it doesn’t have a problem even if the applicant has a criminal history.
Kanchan Gupta, a veteran journalist and a senior advisor in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,expressed his disapproval writing, “The @nytimes has dropped all pretenses of impartiality with this job ad for a South Asia Correspondent. They are looking to hire an anti-Modi activist who can also stoke anti-India sentiments in our neighborhood. With this, the paper qualifies as a foreign-funded NGO.”
Vikram Sood, an Adviser, Observer Research Foundation, wrote, “The ad reeks of arrogance and makes no pretense about its biases. The point is – can any Indian publication do a mirror ad and get eager responses? I am afraid I think not. Therein lies our story.”
