In a shocking revelation, hundreds of students from Islamic State strongholds are applying for admissions at Kerala University. As per the reports, the university has received 1,042 applications for various courses and research departments. Most of the applications have come from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Intelligence agencies have found this suspicious and are investigating the matter.

However, this pattern resembles Zakir Naik’s hijra theory, where he asked Muslims to Migrate to Kerala in large numbers to change the demography of the state. It needs to be checked whether these students from ISIS strongholds are radicalized Islamists and are brought here for further radicalization of Muslim youth in Kerala.

As the organizer weekly has covered extensively, there are multiple instances of Islamist fundamentalist organizations indulging in arms training camps and making explosives. There is also the possibility of ISIS terrorists masquerading as ‘Students’ doing Hijra to Kerala to teach local terrorists to make explosives.

With the Islamists trying new methods to spread terrorism all across India, India’s intelligence agencies have to probe whether the same pattern is followed by Islamic fundamentalists in other states also.
