Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Andolan Samiti has offered a larger piece of land to the Shahi Idgah Masjid management to shift the mosque to some other place.
The Sri Krishna temple trust and Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi Mukti Andolan Samiti, citing the Supreme Court judgment in the Ayodhya Sri Ram Janmbhoomi case, have put forward a proposal to offer a larger piece of land to the Shahi Idgah Masjid management in Mathura if they accept the offer of shifting the mosque to another place.
The proposal was put through an application to the Civil court in Mathura.
It reads the mosque was built after destroying a temple on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The stones of the same temple were used to build the mosque.
The application mentions the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple verdict of the Supreme Court. In a landmark verdict on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court granted the land right in Ayodhya to Ram Lalla and offered Muslims another piece of land to build a mosque.
The mosque in Mathura is built on the Sri Krishna temple land and people have been demanding it to be shifted to some other place.
The matter will be taken up for hearing on July 5.
