The Ghaziabad police on Wednesday filed an FIR against Samajwadi Party leader Umed Pehlwan Idrisi for giving a personal fight in Ghaziabad a communal twist.

Idrisi has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including Section 153A (promoting enmity), 295A (outraging religious feelings), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 505 (intent to incite), and 67 (transmitting obscene material online).

Saifi, who belongs to Bulandshahr and is an occult practitioner, was thrashed by Parvesh, Arif, Aadil, Mushahid, and others in Ghaziabad on June 5.

The muted video of the incident was made viral on social media by Idrisi and others with a twist that Saifi was thrashed for not chanting Jai Shri Ram.

Later a series of videos emerged online where Saifi claims he was thrashed for not chanting Jai Shri Ram.

Propaganda website Alt News co-founder Muhammed Zubair played a crucial role in making the manipulated video go viral.

The Ghaziabad police had earlier lodged an FIR against Zubair, Twitter, and some other people and organizations for giving a communal twist to a personal fight.
