The advisory comes in the backdrop of some very embarrassing lapses in political appointments in the Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh governments.
The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party has advised the party’s state governments to do a thorough background check of individuals before finalizing political appointments in the government.
The advisory comes in the backdrop of some very embarrassing lapses in making political appointments in the Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh governments, both states ruled by the BJP.
A media professional, Tushar Panchal, was appointed Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on June 8.
Following his appointment, many previous social media posts of Panchal started circulating where he had mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
He had also severely criticized the policies of the NDA government at the center.
Following the social media uproar, Panchal declined the post.
Earlier, another media professional, Dinesh Mansera, was appointed media advisor to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat in May.
Mansera’s past comments started circulating on social media where he has cracked jokes on government policies and had passed personal comments on the BJP leadership and the RSS.
His appointment, too, was canceled.
The BJP central leadership felt such lapses were a poor reflection on the party’s state governments and hurt the sentiments of the party cadre.
