The National Commission for Women Tuesday issued a notice to Yogendra Yadav in the case of gangrape and death of a girl at Tikri Border.
Yadav in a press conference Monday had admitted that he knew about it on April 25. He was also aware of the people involved.
Still, Yadav did nothing for more than a week. In fact, he declared Monday that the accused were not part of any core committee.
The NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma requested the Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij to investigate Yadav in the case.
Another farmer leader, Rakesh Tikait, has still maintained silence on the issue.
Of the six people named in the FIR, two females are there for trying to hush up the crime.
Yadav also knew about the incident but kept silent.
The victim, who was gangraped at Tikri Border, died of Covid-19 on April 30.
Two of the main accused are Aam Aadmi Party leaders.
