BJP’s Chandana Bauri, Wife of a Daily Wage Worker, Wins Saltora Seat in West Bengal

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chandana Bauri, wife of a daily wage worker, won the Saltora assembly seat in West Bengal.

She defeated Sontosh Kumar Mondal of the Trinamool Congress by a margin of 4145 votes.

She has declared assets of just about INR 30000. She owns three goats and three cows.

Her family of three children and husband live in a mud house.

Bauri has polled 91648 votes, securing 45.28 percent of the valid votes polled.

Bauri, after the poll victory, thanked the people of the constituency for their support. She also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The 30-year-old said she never thought she would get the party nomination.

Her victory was hailed as the victory of a common person.
