A secret military research work on animal viruses was underway for about eight years in the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The Daily Mail reported this Sunday.

The report suggests that there was some manipulation as far as the origin of the Covid-19 was concerned. China has consistently denied any such project and has been trying to project itself a victim of the pandemic.

China first reported about the virus in November 2019 but many believe the existence of the virus was known much before it and the Chinese authorities misled everyone.

Recently, China did not allow a group of independent researchers to visit the lab and site in Wuhan believed to be the origin of the virus.

It provided the secondary data and did not allow access to any primary sources to ascertain the origin of the pandemic. Many countries, including the US, Canada and France objected to this approach of China.

The Daily Mail also reported that the Chinese officials have always denied the military role in the high security Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The report says the project started in 2012 was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and it was titled “the discovery of animal-delivered pathogens carried by wild animals”.
