Pakistan Friday banned all social media and messaging platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram etc.
The government had already banned any coverage of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) since Thursday.
This, after the TLP members, had a massive confrontation with the police and the military personnel.
TLP chief Saad Hussain Rizvi was arrested three days back and his supporters are carrying out violent protests all across the country.
Rizvi has been demanding the expulsion of the French ambassador over a cartoon published in France. He has also been demanding to ban any business relationship with France.
