Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s lavish lifestyle has once again created political turmoil in the country.
Khan got the Finance Ministry to approve the additional US $ 2 million as expenditure for using the VVIP plane.
The news has created turmoil for two reasons.
Firstly, Pakistan is undergoing severe economic stress. The government has cut down on many public welfare programmes for lack of funds.
Secondly, since the very beginning of his term, Khan has been preaching austerity not only to his cabinet colleagues but all citizens.
To overcome the economic stress, Pakistan has requested the IMF to release the second instalment of the approved relief package.
The VVIP planes are also used by President Arif Alvi.
