Yeh Ladai rukegi nahi …, asserts Home Minister on war against Maoists

New Delhi/Jagdalpur: Home Minister Amit Shah and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday paid homage to Sukma martyrs who made supreme sacrifice in a brutal Naxal attack on Saturday.

“Yeh ladai rukegi nahi ….(This war will not stop here) and rather it will be intensified further),” Home Minister told reporters after holding a review meeting with the Chief Minister and top security and civil officials here.

“We will intensify the war against Maoists and turn this war into a victory,” he said.

The Home Minister said the security officials have suggested themselves that “in no way” the scale of the war against Maoists should be diluted a bit. “This shows the morale is extremely high and intact. I would like to assure the country that this battle will not stop here and it will be intensified further and take it to a logical conclusion”.

Shah said, “Our victory against Naxalites is certain and sure”, adding in the last five-six years in Chhattisgarh especially the umber of camps have been increased and taken to interiors.

“The Chhattisgarh government and the centre have jointly worked together to make deeper penetration and this led to frustration in Maoists resulting in such attacks against the security forces,” he said.

Lot of work has been carried out on the development front though Covid19 had created some hurdles in these works, the Home Minister said.

Shah also assured that “all suggestions’ from people’s representatives, elected legislators and Members of Parliament and the state Chief Minister have come vis-a-vis intensifying the war against Maoists, these will be attended to.

“In tribal areas, we need to carry out developmental works and on the other front, the fight against these groups should be carried forward with greater intensity,” he said.

“On both the fronts, both the state and central governments are working in good coordination,” he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already committed the nation’s and his government’s resolve to take this war to its “logical end”, the Home Minister asserted.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Baghel said “the conflict was almost a war that continued for four hours and entire security system and forces from state, CRP, Cobra group and others put up a befitting response”.

“It is first time that bodies of killed Naxals have been brought…,” he said adding, there are reports that many Naxals have been eliminated as well. The Chief Minister also said the attacks by Maoists only display their ‘desperation’.

The Naxal attack in the Sukma-Bijapur region has resulted in the killing of 22 security personnel, reports said.

This region falls under the Bastar division, which has in recent times has witnessed increased Maoist activities and violence. The districts of Bastar, Kanker, Narayanpur, Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur fall under this.
