Head of the iconic Gita Press Trust and editor of the Kalyan magazine, Radheshyam Khema, passed away Saturday in Varanasi.
He was 86.
His last rites were performed on Saturday evening.
Khemka ji was editing Kalyan, an iconic magazine of the Gita Press Trust, Gorakhpur, for the last 38 years.
For the first time, he edited the magazine in November/December 1982.
Since March 1983, he has been continuously editing the magazine.
He was unwell for the past few days. Just before he breathed his last, he edited the April issue of the magazine.
The magazine has been published continuously since 1926. It’s a publication of Gita Press, Gorakhpur, focusing on spirituality.
Gita Press, Gorakhpur was founded in 1923 by Hanuman Prasad Poddar Ji for serving humanity through the publication of Sanatan religious texts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condoled the death of Gita Press president Radheshyam Khemka, noting he remained active in various social services throughout his life. PM Modi also noted that Khemka took Sanatan literature to the masses.
