Home Minister Amit Shah launched a frontal attack against the Nehru family scions Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra in Assam.
He said they come to Assam for photo-ops and don’t return after the polls. The future of Assam will never be safe under the leadership of such people.
Priyanka Vadra had recently visited the state and plucked tea leaves from tea gardens.
Taking a dig at it, the Union Home Minister said she came and plucked the tea leaf even though the leaves are plucked in April. She had come only for a photo-op.
He criticised Rahul Gandhi for presenting AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmal as representative of Assam. He added the Congress leader is working to make Ajmal the chief minister of the state.
The Congress has allied with AIUDF for the Assam Legislative Assembly polls.
The voting for the 126 seats of the Assam Assembly is spread over three phases, starting March 27. The counting of votes will start on May 2.
The minister also promised to bring laws against love & land jihad. He accused the Congress leaders of sheltering the infiltrators.
The BJP ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh have brought strict laws to regulate interfaith marriages.
Many incidents have been reported where Hindu girls have been trapped by Muslim men with fake Hindu names.
