109-year old Ram Dullaiya got her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh Thursday.
So far, she is the oldest to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
She got vaccinated at a community health centre in Jalaun district. She went home after undergoing mandatory observation of half-an-hour.
She was felicitated by the district officials and politicians after the vaccination.
Dullaiya was administered Covishield, manufactured by Pune-based Serum Institute of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a virtual meeting with chief ministers this week to discuss the vaccination drive. The concern was also expressed about the rising number of Corona cases in the country.
