The authorities in Lucknow pulled down the illegal construction of dreaded gangster Mukhtar Ansari’s property Saturday.

Ansari is facing multiple charges of murder, kidnapping, dacoity and arson. He is a dreaded gangster who operates from Ghazipur in western Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, he is lodged in Punjab jail. Multiple attempts of the Yogi government to bring him to Uttar Pradesh have failed.

The Congress government of Capt. Amarinder Singh in Punjab has deployed a battery of lawyers in the Supreme Court to stop Ansari’s transfer to Uttar Pradesh.

Ansari is a relative of Former Vice-President Hamid Ansari and is also a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Uttar Pradesh.

It was alleged that the top floor of the Rani Sultanat Plaza in Hazratganj in Lucknow was constructed illegally.

Two sharp-shooters of the Ansari gang were killed recently in a police encounter in Lucknow.

The government is also tightening the grip on other associates of Ansari.

His family enjoys formidable power in two powerful regional parties of Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
