West Bengal Assembly Election: Suvendhu Adhikari to Contest against Mamata in Nandigram

Suvendhu Adhikari, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after resigning from the Mamata Banerjee-led government, will contest the poll against the chief minister from Nandigram.
The Bharatiya Janata Party announced its list of 57 candidates.
Adhikari, a very prominent member of the Trinamool Congress, had resigned from the government and the party three months back.
After the resignation, Adhikari had joined the BJP.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced a list of 291 candidates Friday.
Banerjee is contesting the polls from Nandigram. For the first time in her more than three-decades-long political career, Banerjee has shifted her seat.
She is an MLA from Bhawanipur from where she was elected in 2011 also. She was a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from 1991-2011 from Kolkata South. Bhawanipur assembly seat is in the Kolkata South Lok Sabha constituency.
It was speculated that she would contest from two seats this time.
