The news regarding U.S based ‘human-rights watchdog Freedom House downgrading India from ‘free’ to ‘partly free’ in terms of ‘freedom’ has been celebrated by the left-liberal ecosystem. Freedom House, which is substantially funded by the U.S government had made their annual report propaganda material against the Modi government. Also, the Freedom house shared a distorted map of India on Twitter.
According to the watchdog, “India’s status declined from Free to Partly Free due to a multiyear pattern in which the Hindu nationalist government and its allies have presided over rising violence and discriminatory policies affecting the Muslim population and pursued a crackdown on expressions of dissent by the media, academics, civil society groups, and protesters”.
The report, which clearly shows its anti-India tilt says, “While India is a multiparty democracy, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has presided over discriminatory policies and increased violence affecting the Muslim population. The constitution guarantees civil liberties including freedom of expression and freedom of religion, but harassment of journalists, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and other government critics has increased significantly under Modi. Muslims, scheduled castes (Dalits), and scheduled tribes (Adivasis) remain economically and socially marginalized.”
The report peddles fake information about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), anti-Hindu Delhi riots and the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Freedom house’s approach towards India can be understood from the post shared by them in Twitter. It shows a mutilated map of India. The left-liberals using this anti-India report to attack the Modi government itself shows the grand coalition that is at work to destabilise India.
