Addressing a huge public rally in Hooghly in West Bengal Monday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said people of West Bengal have already made up their mind for a change in the state.
To a thundering crowd, he said, “Bengal does not need just poribortan but asol poribartan.”
Launching a frontal attack on the Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government, PM Modi said it’s difficult to get anything done in Bengal without paying a bribe. He said, “You can’t get a building on rent without paying the cut money to the syndicate.”
He blamed the syndicate for the poor condition of West Bengal. And pitched the Bharatiya Janata Party as the only party which can uproot this bribe culture and syndicate culture.
Taking a potshot at the appeasement policies of the Mamata government, the BJP will form a government in the state which will work for the development of all but appeasement of none.
He also talked about how Bengal is lagging behind in development because of the dirty politics of the ruling party in the state. He said, “The party here talks about Maa, Mati and Manush but does nothing for the development of the people.”
He exhorted the people to gear up for change.
Explaining how development projects have got stuck in West Bengal, Prime Minister Modi said out of about 1700 crores provided to the state for Jal Jeevan Mission, only about 600 crores have been used and the rest is lying unused.
Referring to the new farm laws, the prime minister said farmers need support to sell their produce in the market of their choice.
He reminded people how Bengal needs the permission of the government to worship Maa Durga. Terming it an insult of Bengali pride and culture, the prime minister said it would change once the BJP forms the government in the state.
