PFI-Campus Front of India general secretary with SIMI links arrested from Thiruvananthapuram Airport

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested an activist of the banned Islamist organisation, Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) from Thiruvananthapuram Airport in Kerala. Rauf Sharif was nabbed by the ED while he was returning from Muscat.
Rauf is a resident of Anchal in Kollam district of Kerala. He is currently the national general secretary of Campus Front of India. This organisation is the students’ wing of the radical Islamist outfit Popular Front of India, the new avatar of SIMI. There was a look-out notice against him issued by the Uttar Pradesh police for his alleged role in Delhi riots. Rauf will be taken to Uttar Pradesh for further questioning.
The new Indian Express reports that Rauf is involved in funding for the nationwide strike against CAA and NPR. Popular Front is under the scanner of Union Home ministry for carrying out anti-national activities including sponsoring terrorism, money laundering and religious conversions.
