West Bengal turned into a warzone as the state police unleashed a brutal attack on Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers who staged a protest march against the Mamata Government. In Siliguri, a senior BJP worker was killed in the police attack.

“Ulen Roy, a senior BJP worker, has succumbed to splinter injuries caused by the country bombs that Mamata’s police threw,” national president of BJYM, Tejasvi Surya MP said in a tweet. BJP called for a 12-hour bandh in North Bengal in protest against the killing of its party worker.

Police used tear gas shells and water cannons on the Yuva Morcha workers protesting against West Bengal government, at Tinbatti. “Many BJP workers injured during their peaceful protest. Democracy being murdered in West Bengal,” Surya said in another tweet.

Sharing visuals and photos of the police action against BJP-BJYM workers, Tejaswi Surya tweeted, “Mamta Banerjee ji, let your uniformed goons torture BJYM cadres as much as they please. We will not back down, we will not be afraid! Our BJYM karyakartas are made of steel… You can’t break us. You can’t shake our resolve.”

“Many BJP workers injured during their peaceful protest. Democracy being murdered in West Bengal,” ANI quoted Tejasvi Surya.

“The Indian people call for a youth front #UttarKanyaCholo Mamata’s police brutally tortured BJP workers in a peaceful democratic movement during the campaign. Fearing defeat, Mamata Banerjee is using police to stop BJP workers! BJP cannot be stopped, it will not go away,” the party tweeted in Bengali.

National General Secretary, BJP Kailash Vijayvargiya shared a video in which it was clearly visible that the police were firing tear gas shells. He alleged that while police were throwing tear gas shells, the TMC goons standing next to them were throwing country-made bombs.
