“Actively joining the national fight against corona pandemic, over one lakh RSS swayamsevaks extend helping hand to local administration in different health, security and other activities, and are engaged in various service activities at 10,000 places in the country,” says RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi in his Ramnavami message on April 2, 2020

New Delhi: “The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers are engaged in different sewa activities across the country in this crisis before the humanity. Thousands of swayamsevaks are in the forefront with the society to address the different needs of the people. Over one lakh swayamsevaks are engaged in different sewa activities at about 10,000 places. They have reached about ten lakh families through any of the activity including providing grocery kits, serving food, providing sanitizers, serving the health centres etc.,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi in his Ramnavami message on April 2, 2020.

“Today we are passing through a different kind of crisis. All the people of the world are frightened by this threat. Since corona is an infectious disease, curbing its infection is the right solution at this moment. We can get rid of this crisis by following the health advisories issued by the administration and doctors. Therefore, on this day of Shri Ramnavami our pledge to fight against this crisis should present an ideal before the entire world to emulate,” said Shri Joshi in the message.

The RSS Sarkaryavah specifically mentioned the woes of the nomadic tribes living in different parts of Maharashtra and how the Sangh swayamsevaks are serving them with food and the items of their different needs. He also underlined how 1000 Sangh swayamsevaks have donated blood in various parts of the country. “We know a good number of security and health personnel including doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff are serving the people round the clock. The swayamsevaks are extending them the necessary help required to discharge their duties effectively. They are also providing them meals and refreshments. In order to educate the people to follow the precautions, they have printed some pamphlets and are distributing them to the people,” Shri Joshi added.

Commenting on the threats emerging out of the migration of workers from some cities to villages during these critical days, the RSS Sarkaryavah said the migration of people from one place to other can prove highly dangerous at this moment. Therefore, we all need to assure the labourers and workers that all their needs would be taken care of and they need not migrate. Though the swayamsevaks are engaged in extending a hand to such people, these efforts need to be accelerated, Shri Joshi added. He stressed on necessary health check-up of the people who are migrating to their villages before they enter their villages. “At some places, the villagers have refused entry to such people into the village due to the fear of infection. and the migrating people are forced to stay in makeshift arrangements outside villages. We all need to think over it,” Shri Joshi said. He further added: “The lockdown will continue for two more weeks. If we continue to follow the advisories and curb the spread of the virus effectively, I hope we will be able to normalise the situation in two weeks. There is a need to follow the required norms without any fault.”

Shri Joshi called upon the swayamsevaks to start any sewa activity that they find necessary in their vicinity. Today, many capable people are ready to extend helping hand to us. “Many people are asking us for support. People in good numbers seem ready to work with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. We need to take all such people with us and do whatever is necessary at the local level. “With prayer to Shri Ram, I hope all the workers will continue their efforts for more two weeks and the country would come out of this crisis,” Shri Joshi said.
