Several crates of petrol bombs, chemicals and stones were recovered from Aam Admi Party councillor Tahir Hussain’s house in the riot-hit northeast area of Delhi. The explosive materials were found on the rooftop of the AAP leader.
Earlier, the family members of the slain IB officer Ankit Sharma had alleged that Tahir Hussain was behind his murder. The Intelligence Bureau officer was found dead in a drain in Chand Bagh area where he lived.
Sharma, 26, had been missing since Tuesday. The role of AAP leader and local councillor Tahir Hussain had become apparent in the murder of Ankit Sharma since then. Tahir Hussain’s name had already emerged prominently in the investigations over Islamic mob attacks in various parts of Delhi. Another AAP leader and MLA Amanatullah Khan’s name was also heard in connection with the investigation over mobilizing Muslim mobs to riot under the garb of opposing CAA.
The family members of Ankit Sharma blamed Tahir for his murder and said that there was firing from a ‘local AAP leader’s building rooftop.
