Vishva Hindu Mahasabha state president Ranjit Bachchan shot dead in Lucknow

Vishva Hindu Mahasabha Uttar Pradesh state president Ranjit Bachchan was shot dead early morning during a morning walk in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area.
When Ranjit Bachchan was out for a morning walk, bike-borne assailants opened fire on him near the CDRI building in Lucknow’s Hazratganj. As per the local media reports, he was shot in the head multiple times. Ranjit Bachchan’s brother was also injured in the firing. He has been rushed to the trauma centre. Bachchan was a resident of Gorakhpur.
Dinesh Singh, DCP Central Lucknow, said, “The body has been identified as of Ranjit Bachchan, who had gone out on morning walk when some unknown assailant shot him. A police team has been formed and further investigation is being carried out.”
Before becoming the president of Vishva Hindu Mahasabha, Ranjit Bachchan was a Samajwadi Party leader and very close to SP leader and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
