Service of RSS Swayamsevaks in Patna floods provides much needed succor; Hundreds of families rescued and temporary shelters setup by Swayamsevaks

Patna: Swayamsevaks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh have been engaged in selfless day-to-day service in Patna floods. The Swayamsevaks have so far rescued more than 100 families from the disaster. The Swayamsevaks have made temporary arrangements for the affected people to stay at 4 locations. The temporary shelters have been set up at Bhootnath Road, Munna Chak, Doctors Golambar and Vaishali Golambar.
More than 150 Swayamsevaks have been engaged in the relief and rehabilitation work. The Swayamsevaks have been organised into 12 teams with each team focusing on an affected area and work. Among them, 10 teams are engaged in distributing relief materials to the needy. 2 teams have been pressed into service for rescuing people from the affected areas.
Hundreds of Swayamsevaks are aiding in the management of vehicular movement and traffic management along with the local police.
Service for All
The Swayamsevaks so far have distributed 10 thousand food packets, 4 thousand bread packets and 2 thousand liters of milk. Along with these essential items needed for daily usage like candles, grains and biscuits are also being distributed. So far, the Swayamsevaks have handed over 100 packets of candles, 500 packets of grains and pulses, 10 large boxed of biscuits and 10 boxed toffee in the last 2 days.
Prant Prachar Pramukh Rajesh Pandey has informed that water has started to receded from many areas of Patna. However, as the water recedes chances of water communicable diseases increases. To mitigate the situation, RSS is organising teams of Doctors who will be engaged in health check ups. Temporary health centres will be set up along with necessary medicines, he informed.
RSS has also set up helpline numbers for the distressed and anyone requiring any kind of assistance. Rajesh Pandey told that quick assistance is being provided to anyone who is contacting them through these numbers.
