HN Dixit
Kolkata: The prestigious Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman for 2019 will be presented to noted thinker and writer Shri Hridyanarayan Dixit on June 22. The Samman will be presented by Governor of West Bengal Shri Kesarinath Tripathi in the presence of Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri Ram Naik. Born at Laua village under Unnav district of Uttar Pradesh Shri Dixit is post graduate in Economics.
A Sangh swayamsevak since childhood, he has been active in the Jan Sangh since 1968. He was jailed for 19 months during the Emergency.
He has been very active in the youth and farmers agitations and has worked for the development of the Scheduled Castes. He edited ‘Kal Chintan’ magazine from 1978 to 2004. His more than 4000 articles have been published in various newspapers and magazines of the country. He has also written over 30 books. He has been MLA in Uttar Pradesh Assembly four times. Presently he is Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
