Shimla: Some communist goons on March 24 attacked the Sangh Shakha at Summerhill. Vibhag Pracharak and about a dozen student swayamsevaks were injured in the attack. The goons also attacked the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad workers sleeping at Himachal Pradesh University hostel. The injured students have been admitted in IGMC hospital.
The way the goons, numbering about 50 and armed with sharp edged weapons, suddenly attacked the swayamsevaks during the shakha, shows the attack was pre-planned. Since the ABVP has registered its strong presence in Himachal Pradesh University, it has shaken the urban naxals. The police have registered a case and an investigation is on. Commenting on the incident, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said it is not West Bengal or Kerala, no such criminal activity would be tolerated in the state.
The attack on the Sangh Shakha and also on the ABVP activists has expsoed the growing influence of the urban naxals in a peacefull state like Himachal Pradesh. This gang of anti-nationals can create more disturbane if not curbed forthwith.
