Bengaluru: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the new building of the Rashtrotthana Blood Bank on March 16. The new building of the record-setting blood bank has been named as ‘Srimati Subhadraben Jayantilal Nagar Das Shah Bhavan’. It is located near the famous Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple in the city.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Bhagwat said a swayamsevak of RSS regards self as a ‘Sevak’ and involves in transforming the society through selfless service. He said it is the selfless service that brings change in society which the swayamsevaks and karyakartas of RSS inspired institutions like Rashtrotthana Blood Bank are engaged in. He lauded the efforts of the Blood bank and wished that it will continue to render yeoman services to those in need and the society at large.

RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi along with the Sarsanghachalak visited the new building and interacted with the staff. They took a tour of the premises and took stock of the work of the institution. They also guided the staff of the blood bank and told them the importance of their work in society. Sahsarkaryavah Shri Mukunda CR was also present.
The building was constructed to accommodate the ever-expanding work of the blood bank. Established in 1994, the Rashtrotthana Blood Bank is number one blood bank in the state as far as total number of blood units collected and transfused is concerned. The main office of the blood bank is housed in the headquarters of Rashtrotthana Parishat at ‘Keshava Shilpa’.
