Tribute to the ?Walking God?

Tumkuru: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat paid tribute to the Jagadguru Parampujya Dr Shivakumara Swamy of Sri Siddaganga Mutt, who was considered as verily the God walking on earth. Dr Shivakumar Swamiji passed away on January 21.

In his condolence message Shri Bhagwat said: “Our Nation in general and Hindu society in particular has lost a great spiritual leader and social reformer par excellence. Our second Sarasanghchalak Parampujy Shri Guruji was very close to Swami ji and shared with him many spiritual and social concerns of our nation and society. RSS remembers with deep reverence the long association it had with Swamiji and the guidance he gave us. I also with all humility and respect remember the close association with Swami ji. On behalf of RSS and myself I offer my revered homage to the departed great soul.”
RSS Kshetra Sanghachalak of Dakshina Madhya Kshetra Shri V. Nagaraj and Karnataka Dakshina Prant Sanghachalak Shri Venkataramu also condoled the demise of Swamy ji. “RSS remembers, with humility, the long association with Pujya Swamy ji and treasures the encouragement and blessings showered upon the organisation by Swamy ji,” they said in a statement.
In his tribute, VHP Secretary General Shri Milind Parande said Maharaj ji looked after the education and upkeep of more than 13,000 students throughout his life without any kind of discrimination of caste, community or mode of worship. When the VHP was formed in Karnataka, Pujya Swamyji had himself blessed the occasion personally. It was in his Matt that the golden jubilee celebration of the VHP was organised in 2014.
