Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt addressing the function at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi

New Delhi: “What is required the most to run a voluntary organisation (VO) is the ‘charitra bal’, the strength of character. The voluntary organisation, which lacks honesty, transparency and service feeling only works for fund raising and not serving the needy. Such NGOs benefit none,” said noted economist, thinker and RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt, while felicitating some voluntary organisations at Vigyan Bhavan on 156th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and 352 Prakash Utsav of Guru Govind Singh on January 12.

Referring to Swami Vivekananda Dr Gupt said coordination in science and spirituality is a must for nation building. The West might have made progress in the field of science, but India still dominates in spirituality. The science disconnected from spirituality only leads to destruction.

General secretary organisation of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat Shri Avinash Jaiswal said it is time to pledge to prepare the children who are ready for sacrifice for the nation as was done by Guru Govind Singh. He said Hindusthan is Hindusthan only because of the sacrifices made by Khalsa Panth formed by Guru Govind Singh. That is why Sufi Poet Bulle Shah had to write “Naa Kahun Abaki, Na Kahun Tabaki, Hote naa Govind Singh to Sunnat Hoti Sabaki”.
Swami Yoganand from Badrinath Dham said the science has done nothing new; it has only applied what has been written in our ancient texts. What our scriptures said is being repeated by the science in newer contexts. Dr Rachana Bajpai from Utkrishta Utthan Sewa Mandal, Shri Vijay Khurana from CNI, Shri Santosh Taneja from Sankalp, Shri Sudarshan Sarin from CNI, Justice MC Garg, former Lokayukta of Chhattisgarh Justice SN Srivastava and retired IAS Dr Kamal Taori also spoke.
