NIA raids 16 places in UP and Delhi, busts new ISIS module

NIA reportedly arrested five people from a madrassa in UP’s Amroha
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches at 16 locations in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi in connection with a new ISIS module, called ‘Harkat ul Harb e Islam’. Five people have been arrested and 10 detained in the major operation.

The raids were carried out in cooperation with the Anti Terror Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police and the special cell of the Delhi Police. According to reports, the NIA had been monitoring activities of the module for a long time. Pistols, ammonium nitrate and material used for making the improvised explosive device (IED) were recovered from their possession.
The five people were reportedly arrested from a madrassa in UP’s Amroha. The agency is presently interrogating the 10 people who have been detained. In Delhi, raids were carried out in Seelampur.
