Janam TV was the only news channel which stood by Ayyappa Devotees and brought out the reality by upholding the true spirit of journalism, while other news channels were churning out fake news against the Hindus that aimed at whitewashing the police brutality in Sabarimala at the behest of the CPM
As per the latest BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council India) report, from October 20 to 26, Janam TV has made a strident rise in the rating and moved up two places to grab the second position in the index. Gaining 102.24 points, the Janam has left behind all popular Malayalam news channels including Manorama News, Mathrubhumi News and News 18 Malayalam. Meanwhile, Asianet News has retained its first position.

Janam TV, as the name suggests, is a people’s initiative to promote people-oriented journalism in Kerala, where the far-left media rule the roost. The Malayalam news channels hitherto fed the media addict Kerala populace with biased reports which have been cooked up by the pro-CPM journalists, popularly known as CITU (CPM trade union) journalists, who have pledged allegiance to their political masters.

With rising to the top position in the TRP (Television Rating Point), The Janam TV has established itself as a new nationalist media alternative in the state. The team Janam views this achievement as a reward for giving voice to the voiceless people in Kerala by upholding the true spirit of journalism.

The soaring popularity of the nationalist channel also signals the increasing public acceptance of Hindutva across the state, especially among unorganised Hindu community, that can bring surprising electoral gains for the BJP in the coming elections. Akin to this, there has been a massive exodus of Hindus from the CPM camp to the BJP and RSS fold ever since the Sabarimala issue flared up following the brutal police oppression of devotees. Shri G Sukumaran Nair, general secretary of the Nair Service Society, the organisation of Nair community, also appreciated the Janam TV for its wide coverage over the Sabarimala issue and bringing out the truth amidst a hostile media environment. Social media have been replete with messages and posters congratulating the journalists who reported for Janam TV from Sabarimala.

Anticipating backlash from viewers, the Mathrubhumi News has taken a U-turn and diluted its anti-Hindu views to a certain extent, especially in the Sabarimala issue. Obviously, it was reflected in the latest BARC rating as the channel surpassed Manorama News and stood third in the report. But the other news channels like News 18 Malayalam continue spewing venom against the protesting Hindu masses and peddling outright lies against the BJP and catering the needs of the CPM government!
