RSS has constantly been trying to galvanise the energies of Hindu society for nation-building. Sangh founder Dr Hedgewar had very well understood that the task of nation and society building cannot be entrusted on contract. When an efficient and organised society works persistently for the betterment of the nation for a long time, then only the nation becomes prosperous. The mission of RSS is to prepare such workers who can organise the society for this noble cause. Today, everyone can see the impact created by Swayamsewaks coming out of the easy and simple modus operandi of RSS. Now they not only get respect and affection from a grateful society but also the recognition of the whole world”
– RSS Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat while delivering the Vijayadashmi Speech of 2015 Blaming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for anything and everything has become the easiest way to get rid of responsibility for our political parties. Using the organisation as a punching bag is now not limited to Bharat but reached the corridors of United Nations too. Even the country like Pakistan is using the ‘punching bag’ tactics against the Sangh to save itself from the ‘terror tag’. What is so special about this man-making for nation-building methodology that from a regional political player like Mamata Banerjee to the known epicentre of global terrorism Pakistan finds it fashionable to make it a target. The answer lies not in the methods and thinking of these forces who use this diversionary strategy to cover up their own failure.
Let us start with Pakistan. Some call it a failed State; others consider it a failing State. The very edifice of Pakistan since Partition days is negative and the negation of thousands of years civilisational history is the only source of inspiration. We are not part of the Hindu civilisation, and therefore, we are Pakistan is such a faulty assumption that without having some or the other enemy, internal or external, you cannot sustain yourself as a unit. So, from the followers of all Hindu sects to Christians and now Shia’s and Ahmadiyyas, all are termed as enemies within, at different point of times. Externally, Bharat is the common enemy to which rogue State governed by the corrupt military cannot fight, so you get into a proxy war through terror outfits. In the process, not just Bharat but the world over, wherever possible, spreading Jihadi terrorism and fundamentalism has become the only the raison d’etre of Pakistan as a State. The economy is crumbling, the US no longer trusts and supports and Chinese investment is more a debt trap with neo-colonial intention. The frustration of all this at the global level is attacking Bharat in the name of RSS.
Interestingly, Pakistan has adopted this strategy from the political parties in Bharat. Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal came to power with a call of Maa, Mati and Manush and failed to deliver on any of them. Instead, sustaining the politics of violence executed by the Communists and actualising the politics of vote-bank initiated by Congress has been the only trademark of Mamata Didi. In the process, many youths are getting killed, sisters are being raped, and the entire development process is devastated. Her repeated visits to foreign countries are not bringing any investment. Again the fear and frustration of losing ground, easy target, RSS.
The party who pioneered this art of using the Sangh as a Punching bag is Congress. Rahul Gandhi without working on the eroding organisational structure, dwindling in a confused state of ‘Secularism’, where he is trying to portray himself a Shiva-Bhakt and simultaneously trying to distance himself from Hindutva. It is unfortunate that a national party like Congress is reduced to some regional pockets and completely miss the vision for the entire country. So reliance on foreign consultants and divisive forces is one option, and the other is to say RSS-BJP in one breath.
All these actors need to peep within to analyse their internal problems and constructively work for the same. The Sangh as a methodology has been working for the last ninety-three years incessantly within the society and trying to energise the common people for uncommon work. The growing acceptance and recognition is a point of satisfaction of the movement and thought process while celebrating the ninety-fourth foundation day this Vijayadashmi. The Sangh has proved its mettle time and again as the authenticity of Gold can only be tested under maximum fire, instead of learning from the same, if political outfits in Bharat do not join the national cause, they would indirectly keep helping the Pakistani cause.
