More than 50,000 selfies of smiling faces, aspiring minds and vibrant campus community are the testimony to India’s underlying unity in diversity. Each of the selfies celebrates a harmonious and prosperous Bharat!

Started of achievements, social activism, creative outlook and finest of practices as an institution, the ‘Selfie with Campus’ campaign of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded on August 4.
With the motto of ‘Reaching the Unreached’ the ABVP workers visited more than 50,000 campuses across the country. “What really made this campaign a success is the diverse nature of the campuses visited by the ABVP workers. Central Universities, State Universities, technology institutes, medical institutes, Madrasas, Vedshala, Sanskrit University, Girls’ Colleges, Night Colleges, +2 Schools, Research Institutes and Law Universities. Many other premiere institutes of national importance were also visited by the ABVP workers to interact with students, understand their aspirations, and to urge them to use their skills to take the nation on the path of development. All the interactions were followed by a selfie with the students on campus,” said national general secretary of the country’s largest students’ organisation Shri Ashish Chauhan while talking to Organiser.

For the #SelfieWithCampus campaign, the ABVP’s national organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar visited various campuses including the prestigious Rajasthan University and IIT Kharagpur. National general secretary Shri Ashish Chauhan visited various campuses across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa including the prestigious Institute of Chemical Technology. National president Dr Subbiah Shanmugam visited Sri Padmavati Mahila University and other campuses in Andhra Pradesh. Various NITs were visited by the national joint organising secretaries of ABVP.

Shri Ashish Chauhan pointed out that more than 15,000 workers across India strived to make the campaign a success. Among other parts of Bharat, hearing stories and experiences from students in Kargil, Maoism infested Bastar and from villages on India-Myanmar border in Manipur will be cherished for lifetime by the volunteers who participated in this unique campaign.

There were selfies straight from the abode of clouds! ABVP workers in Meghalaya visited various colleges of Shillong and other towns, interacted with students, explained them the ABVP and urged to work for the society and nation. All smiling faces expressed their support to the ABVP. Rains could not stop the workers from interacting the students and making the campaign a big hit!

The ABVP had made full preparations before the launch of the campaign. An app ‘ABVP–Selfie with Campus’ was specifically produced and launched for Android and Apple phones for the volunteers to post their selfies. Thousands of selfies of smiling faces, aspiring minds, vibrant campus community are a testimony to India’s underlying unity in diversity. Each of the selfie celebrates a harmonious and prosperous Bharat!
