Bhopal: “People envision some dreams after completing education. But education is not just the means of earning money, it gives a meaning to life…It makes one’s life meaningful,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat during the staging of a play “Janata Raja” at Bharat Bharati on February 3. The play is based on the life of Shivaji. Shri Bhagwat appealed to the people to draw inspiration from Shivaji’s life and help their children to emulate those values.
He further said there are educational institutions for human beings, but not for the animals. It is because the animals do not need to learn anything. A human being needs a goal to live. Therefore, education is essential to know oneself. “Worldly education is must in today’s context, but a human becomes a human being when he/she knows oneself. We should know ourselves too as much as we try to know the world. Our Upanishdas say both these activities should move together,” he added.
Shri Bhagwat said the world needs those who share their earnings for welfare of the world. “Parents today inspire children to become engineers, doctors etc so that they may earn good money. There is long list of the wealthy persons in the country and the world. Even today when one remembers the name of Maharana Pratap for fighting for liberation of the motherland, people equally remember Bhamashah for donating his that wealth to Maharana Pratap. We are human beings and have close bond with the nature. Whatever we may earn, but we should share our income with others. We have long tradition to prepare such people,” he added. *
‘We search threads of unity in diversity’
Agra: “Realising oneness in diversity is the special characteristics of Indian philosophy. It is because of this
tradition that an Indian literary person searches the threads of love in the diversity,” said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal, while addressing an international seminar on literature. The two-day seminar was jointly organised by Kendriya Hindi Sansthan and Sanskar Bharati. The seminar began on February 4 and concluded on February 5.
Dr Krishna Gopal further said that our literature, bravery, sense of duty and commitment are unparallel in the world. We have distinct identity and we should maintain it. The concept of nationalism has the feeling of intolerance. That is why new nations are continously being formed in Europe. In fact, the theory of nationalism has generated hatred in the world. The Indian tradition does not accept this type of theory of nationalism.
Shri Baldev Bhai Sharma, Chairman of the National Book Trust while presiding over the session said the view that can save the entire world is the Indian view, which considers the entire world as a family. “We need to support the literature that promotes this view. Please don’t divide the literature in Dalit, women or progressive. Literature is for all. National identity is always supreme,” he added.
In the previous sessions, Prof DP Upadhyaya from Mysore spoke on different aspects of art. Joint general secretary of Sanskar Bharati Shri Ravindra Bharati also stressed on knowing different aspects of the Indian arts. Dr Kumud Sharma from University of Delhi, Smt Pankaj Bala Sharma and Dr Vidya Joshi also sahred their views. Panchjanya editor Shri Hitesh Shankar stressed the need to produce the literature that attracts the readers and also connects them to the topic. *
