Baitul: The RSS workers engaged in rural development activities across the country had detailed discussion on village development activities on February 3 at Bharat Bharati. Addressing the workers, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said farming and cow rearing are the keys for village development. He stressed on preservation of seven wealths—land, water, forest, cow,
cattle, energy and people through five shaktis of the village—religious power, youth power, women power, good people and the collective power of the people. The Sarsanghachalak also emphasised on education, health, sanskar and self-reliance for village development. The villages which have all such facilities are called Prabhat Gram in the RSS parlance and the number of such villages in the country today is 318.
Shri Bhagwat called upon the workers to make at least 10 per cent villages of the country as Prabhat Grams. That will generate a wave in favour of village development. He said there is no fixed definition of development and it has been changing with the time. That is why the young generation should be connected to rural development
activities. Village development is not the responsibility of 10-15 people of the village, it is the collective responsibility of the entire village.
Around 400 workers joined the three-day Gram Vikas Sammelan, which concluded on February 4. In order to impart practical knowledge of village development to the workers, they were taken to several villages to help them in having first hand information of the changes taking place there. They were taken to 10 villages in groups. All groups were entrusted the task of observing
different issues like education and sanskar, health, self-reliance, water conservation, production of vegetables and spices, environment protection, cultural awakening, temple, cleanliness, etc. *
Think in totality over Kabir
New Delhi: Indraprastha Sahitya Bharati, Delhi unit of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, organised a symposium on social thinking of Kabir on January 31. Speaking on the occasion Dr Vinod Babbar, editor of ‘Rashtra Kinkar’ said Kabir was not merely a poet, he was Kuber, the God of Wealth. He said the society was not divided during his era, as it is divided today. He specifically underlined the fact that Kabir has not rejected idol worship, but opposed the worship of stones.
Dr Mahesh Sharma, former Mayor of Delhi, described both Kabir and Ravidas as the jewels of Indian society and stressed to think over their literature and social thinking in totality. Presiding over the discussion Shri Ramsharan Gaur said Indian saints and sages are still relevant. Kabir wrote and expressed his feelings fearlessly. He even stressed on introspection by all. *
