One more BJP karyakarta, Sunil Deb was barbarically murdered on December 15 late night. Sunil had recently left the ruling CPM to join the BJP. He was found dead with several wounds in a drain in Kanchanpur market in North Tripura. As reported, Sunil was returning home after holding a meeting with BJP karyakartas. In Tripura, Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in February 2018 and BJP is emerging as the challenger to the 25-year-old rule of CPM. In last couple of years, thousands of CPM supporters have come under BJP fold. Irritated by the increasing support for the BJP, CPM cadre has been regularly threatening or assaulting BJP supporters. Law and Order situation is worst in Tripura and the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who also holds the Home portfolio is keeping mum on such incidents. Sunil Deb is the fifth BJP supporter succumbed to attacks by CPM. n

Communist way of corruption
One more case of corruption of Manik Sarkar-led Communist Government in Tripura came in light. Left Government never built the road of length of 1,825 meter under PMGSY from Madan Lal Para to Sabhashanti Para at the cost of Rs.15886000/- in Tribal village of Golaghati Constituency in Sephahijala district. It’s written on the board that work on road was started in 2013 and completed in 2015.
“Central Government gave fund to Left government in Tripura for development while Manik Sarkar-led Communist Government have always innovated new ways of siphoning off the fund without
utilising the fund for development of the state and welfare of the people. Specifically janajatiya people are deprived of government benefits and are looking for a change this time. There is massive anti-incumbency against this Communist Government across the State. People are eagerly waiting to oust this Left Front Government-led by CPIM and will install BJP Government in Tripura” said BJP”s National Executive Member and Tripura State In-Charge, Sunil Deodhar.
Health Minister’s unhealthy expenditure
Kerala Health Minister Shailaja Teacher has been calling on the people of the State to utilise government hospital facilities, but practises the other way around. She avails private, luxurious hodpitsld for her family members. And, she claims the reimbursement from the exchequer for her husband’s treatment in such a hospital, that too hiding the facts! Here are the initial revelations by Janam TV channel based on the RTI documents they do possess:
Minister violated the oath by submitting a affidavit, for claiming the reimbursement for her husband KK Bhaskaran, stating that he was unemployed and dependent on her while he was the chairman of Mattannur Municipality in Kannur district at that point of time and also a retired school headmaster who draws pension from the
government. It is alleged that Rs 5,336 had been claimed for food alone during the 4 day long sojourn in the hospital. Even though Shailaja has been arguing on top of her voice for the promotion of the government hospitals the rent paid for her
husband’s hospital suite was Rs 7,150 per day! Channel said, they have got RTI papers saying that Rs 3,90,250.60 had been claimed for the treatment of Bhaskaran and Shailaja’s mother. It is alleged that forged documents were used for this fraudulent actions.
Adv. DB Binu, Kochi-based RTI activist, said that if the government does not take actions against the minister, the people will have to approach the court and get the justice done.
BJP has already demanded the CM’s action to remove the minister from the position.
