Hubballi: “Social service is sewa and not a business. Hence, the image of the social service should change. The social workers should try to build a better society and serve the needy with love, compassion and dedication,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi while addressing the State level Sewa Sangam. We should try to solve the problems of those who are deprived of basic facilities due to any reason and should ensure a positive changes in their lives.
Some achievers in social service including Shri Shivkumar Swamiji, Dr Ramu Moolagi, Ms Kumuda, Nanashaheb Patil, Siddarameshwar Patted were felicitated for their outstanding work. Head of Kodambi Ramnagar Village was also felicitated on behalf of the village for being dispute-free and addiction-free village. Jarroru Matu a compilation of articles on achievers written by journalist Ravindra Deshmukh was also released.
Expressing concern over the failure of Government schemes reaching the needy, Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr Kiran Bedi said the volunteerism at grass roots is the need of the hour which can ensure the last mile connectivity in connecting the gap between people and the Government. In her inaugural speech Dr Bedi said huge funds are available under various schemes for welfare of the needy people. But most times the fund goes unutilised for lack of information. We have solutions and schemes but lack volunteers who can connect at the end points. She called for universities and colleges to introduce Social Service Apprenticeship where youths can be part of the social service. She lauded the service activities of the Sewa Bharati and recalled her association with it during her tenure as a police officer in Delhi.

Youth Convention
Youth and women conventions were also organised during the Sewa Sangam. The conventions provided the platform for showcasing achievements of youth and women achievers. Bhaiyaji Joshi, Shri Venkateshmurthy of Youth for Seva, and Tejaswini Ananthkumar of Adamya Chetana addressed these conventions. ‘Sewa Darshan’, an exhibition showcasing the sewa activities by the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati and its affiliate organisations drew huge number of visitors. Dr Pramod Gayi, VC of Dharwad University, inaugurated the exhibition. About 150 sewa organisations were represented in the three-day mega Sewa Sangam. About 4,000 delegates participated in various sessions. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Mangesh Bhende, Rashtriya Sewa Bharati national organising secretary Shri Rakesh Jain, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bouddhik Pramukh Shri C R Mukunda, veteran Pracharaks Shri Sitaram Kedilaya, Shri Prakash Kamath and Shri Sundar Lakshmanan were also present on the occasion.

Kolkata: Eminent economist and RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt has been honoured with the Pragya Puraskar. The Puraskar was presented by the Jain Vishwa Bharati in the presence of Jain Acharya Shri Mahashraman. The Puraskar consists of a citation and amount of Rs one lakh. However, Dr Gupta returned the amount to the Jain Vishwa Bharati with the request to spend it for the students who want to conduct research on certain significant topics but do not pursue such studies due to lack of funds.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gupt pointed out that it was with the blessings of Acharya Shri that he could turn to economics. Citing the Charvak philosophy of enjoying life even after borrowing money, he said the blind imitation of the consumerist culture of the West by Indians is creating acute economic disparity in the country. He said the Ahinsa Yatra by Acharya Shri is generating a sense of fraternity, morality and imbibing the real human values.
On this occasion, Acharya Mahashramanji said Dr Bajranglal Gupt is closely associated with the Jain Vishwa Bharati and he has gained special expertise in the field of Economics through his own studies. “I hope the society, the nation and the world would continue to get guidance from such an intelligent and nobel personality,” Acharyaji added. Chairman of the Jain Vishwa Bharati Shri Ramesh Chand Bohra was also present on the occasion. Formed by Acharya Shri Tulsi the prominent higher education institution, Jain Vishwa Bharati, is dedicated to the propagation of education, research, literature, sadhana, sewa, culture and coordination.
Hyderabad: Samajika Samarasata Vedika celebrated Constitution Day on November 26 at 24 places across Telangana by emphasising on Dr Ambedkar’s nationalistic views and his approach of addressing the social evils and barriers in building a unified and prosperous society. For three years, Samajika Samarasata Vedika has been organising several programmes with the objective of bridging the gaps between the castes and sections of the society. It has formed teams consisting of people from various backgrounds and castes to conduct such events. It has succeeded to a large extent in projecting the correct narrative of Dr Ambedkar on nation and his patriotic decisions.
In 2015, the Government decided to celebrate “Constitution Day” on November 26 as the Constitution of India was officially adopted on this day in 1949. The events were held in Nagar Kurnool, Mahboobnagar, Shankarpally (Ranga Reddy District), Medak, Siddipet, Dubbaka, Gajwel, Mutyampeta (Siddipet District), Adilabad, Siricilla, Jagityal, Warangal, Khammam, Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

New Delhi: “The life of Ramesh Prakashji was as should be the life of a swayamsevak in today’s scenario. His work and understanding of the organisation is an example for the workers,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while paying tribute to Ramesh Prakashji on December 1 at a condolence meeting. Former Delhi Prant Sanghachalak of RSS Ramesh Prakashji had passed away on November 21. Workers from RSS, Rashtra Sevika Samiti and many other organisations paid tribute to him at the condolence meeting held at Kidarnath Sahani Auditorium.
“I came in contact of Rameshji after getting the Akhil Bharatiya responsibility. He held different responsibilities in the organisation for a long period. He shaped a number of workers during this period who hold very prominent posts today. He paid adequate attention to the workers and shaped them as per the changing needs of the organisation. His life is an example in the society,” the Sarsanghachalak said. Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Sushri Sithakka also shared the dais during the condolence meeting.

dedicated their life for transforming the lives of the local people. Sunita Godbole is one such full time worker of the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram who has been working in this region for the last 30 years. She was felicitated with Baya Karve Puraskar by Pune based Karve Sanstha. She is originally from Pune and was first active in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and then joined Snehdeep Foundation for sometime. Then she joined the Kalyan Ashram as full time worker and started working in Raigarh District. She was shifted to Bastar region and since then she has done exemplary work of transforming the lives of women in the region.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh in its pre-budget submission to the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on December 5 demanded setting up of a ‘National Rural Bank’ by amalgamating RRBs in order to cater to the needs of rural people more. “As our country needs more banks, the proposal of consolidation of PSBs be shelved,” said the memorandum submitted by BMS to the Finance Minister. The BMS also sought resolving the issue of extending pension benefit to the RRB employees at par with the PSB employees without delay. It demanded pension to the employees of Banking and Insurance Sectors. The BMS sought necessary budgetary support for enhancement of minimum pension to Rs 5,000 per month under the EPS’ 95 and medical benefits under ESIC to the pensioners.
The BMS demanded substantial enhancement in the honorarium of the Scheme Workers such as Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, ASHA & Mid Day Meal and all of them including unorganised sector workers be brought under Social Security Net. “The Government should also earmark adequate budget for education, training and skill development of workers and also development of Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development (DTNBWED). The Government should constitute a high level committee of eminent persons for restructuring and modernisation of the Board, the memorandum said.
Parabhani: In order to strengthen the voice of farmers, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) has decided to reach one crore farmers in next year. The decision to this effect was taken at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of the country’s largest farmers organisation held in Parbhani, Maharashtra, from December 1 to 3. According to BKS national president Shri I N Basave Gowda, more than 400 delegates from different parts of the country were present at the three-day meeting. Talking to Organiser, Shri Gowda said to overcome the threat of farmers’ suicide there is a need to organise their special get togethers. In such get togethers, the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh workers would interact with the farmers and prepare them mentally to overcome the crisis they are facing. Also the BKS workers would present memorandums to at least 400 MPs underlying the demands of the farmers.
Referring to the Yavatmal incident, BKS national secretary Shri Mohini Mohan Mishra pointed out that Bollgard Bt Cotton was launched in the market in 2002 to control the disease. But in 2005 it was realised that it is ineffective. Many farmers lost their lives due to misguide by the company and the distributors regarding spraying of the pesticides.
BKS national organising secretary Shri Dinesh Kulkarni moved a motion regarding the GST. He said the BKS has formed a study group to study various provisions of the GST. “Once we get the report from the study group, we will present our demands before the GST Council,” he added.

New Delhi: Mohan Joshi, who has been instrumental in bringing back lakhs of people to their original Hindu roots across the country, breathed his last on December 4. He was 83. He was unwell for some time.
Born on December 13, 1934 at Kharabad Tehsil of Ramganj Mandi under Kota District of Rajasthan, Mohanji had primary education from Ramganj Mandi and then did graduation from Kota. Then he did post graduation in Political Science from Rajasthan University and diploma in Russian language and Sahityaratna in Hindi literature. He knew Sanskrit, Gujarati, Marathi, Bangla and Oriya. He participated in the Gouraksha and Bhudan Movement and then JP Movement. During Emergency, he was the organising secretary of the ABVP in Rajasthan. He also edited Hunkar and Tarun Shakti magazines in those days. He was also editor of Anant Mangal magazine from 1978 to 1986.
He became a Sangh Vistarak in 1957 and was deputed in Jhalawar. Then he held various responsibilities and finally became Jaipur Prant Karyalaya Pramukh. He was also Jaipur Mahanagar Pracharak from 1965 to 1970. He contributed in the activities of the Bharatiya Jansangh, Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Vivekanand Kendra Kanyakumari and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. After Emergency, he became Rajasthan Prant organising secretary of the VHP and did a wonderful work in Ajmer and Byavar regions. He established contact with the local Muslims who were originally Chauhans. Finally, thousands of them returned to their original Hindu roots. When the Homecoming Cell was created in the VHP in 1984, Mohanji became head of the Cell. Since then he has been instrumental in the homecoming of lakhs of people to their original Hindu roots. The work of homecoming, which was once done by Swami Shraddhanand, was done by Mohan Joshiji in recent time. He has also authored several books. He had suffered brain stroke in 2011.
He had recovered following the treatment of two months but stopped countrywide tours.
