Literature is incomplete sans swadeshi feeling
New Delhi: “Although the Shaks and Huns invaded Bharat, but they got so impressed with the views of the then literary persons of Bharat that they got absorbed in this soil. But the intellectual level of the invaders of 12th century was very poor. They were intolerant and were not ready to listen to others. It is a rare coincidence that majority of the Gurus born in this land were not only good warriors and rulers but were also influential saint and literary figures. What influenced the psyche of Bharat was Sri Ramcharitmanas. Therefore, the literature is incomplete without the swadeshi feeling,” said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal while speaking at a two-day symposium organised by the National Book Trust on August 1.
Applauding the role of regional literary persons, he said that they played a key role in uniting the nation. They always accorded importance to the nation than the regional issues. It has been the good work of literary persons that protected the nation for 900 years. ‘Vandemataram’ was the song that inspired innumerable people to even sacrifice their lives for the sake of motherland.
He said the good works of the people help the nation to make progress. NBT Chairman Shri Baldevbhai Sharma also spoke on the occasion.

New Delhi: Delhi units of the RSS and the Sewa Bharati have jointly taken up an ambitious initiative to plant 10 lakh saplings in the national capital as part of a special drive to be conducted from August 15 to 22. In order to make the drive a big hit, the Sangh swayamsevaks and Sewa Bharati workers have decided to actively mobilise thousands of Delhiites in it.
A variety of fruit bearing and medicinal value plants have already been identified for the drive. Apart from planting the saplings, proper arrangements are being made for their further care so that majority of the saplings survive after plantation.
According to Dr Ramkumar, secretary of the Sewa Bharati Delhi, the drive is well planned and workers are being imparted training so that the saplings are planted in proper manner and they are also cared properly after the plantation.
“The training for workers at Prant level was imparted on July 26. Now these trained workers will impart training to other workers at District level and then this training will be imparted at Nagar level. The training include the knowledge of how to dig the land, how to plant the sapling and also how to look after them after plantation.
The saplings will be planted in school compounds, Police Stations, hospitals, parks, etc. Roads will be avoided for plantation. We have made efforts that every tree is adopted by any family in the name of their ancestors, children or family members.
Only the saplings, which are adopted by anyone will be planted. Apart from Sewa Bharati workers, the NCC, NSS volunteers, students of Delhi University Colleges and the Vidya Bharati Schools, children connected with the Sewa Bharati projects, general families, different organisations associated with the RSS are going to join the drive,” said Dr Ramkumar.
In order to keep a close watch on the saplings committees will be formed at the Nagar level and they will monitor the trees at monthly level. Those families or workers who would look after the sapling with care would be felicitated.
