Condolence meeting in Hyderabad on July 11 to pay tribute to veteran Sangh Pracharak the late Hari Hara Sarma who passed away on June 29
Hyderabad: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Keshav Memorial Education Society (KMES) jointly organised a condolence meeting on July 11 to pay tribute to the late Harihara Sarma who passed away on June 29.
In his tribute RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Shri V Bhagaiah said: “Sarmaji was a multifaceted individual. He was associated with the Sangh since his college days and led the life true to the real meaning of a swayamsevak till his last breath. He held various responsibilities in the ABVP for over five decades. Generally, people expect recognition and fame for their contribution, though it is not wrong, but Sarmaji being in several roles as teacher, mentor, educationist, intellectual, administrator, author, editor and social worker, did not seek any self-identity for his work. In the last 40 years, in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he was like source of knowledge and inspiration to everyone. His interaction and guidance to ABVP karyakartas, swayamsevaks to Sangh adhikaries including me was articulated with a strong clarity of thought and expression. He was like a karmayogi in discharging his responsibilities.”
“Sarmaji was a guru for everyone by his personality and profession throughout his life. He was an ideal swayamsevak and in short we can say “Kulothpann of Dr Hedgewarji”. His life was an embodiment of dedication, balanced and dutiful. His contribution in man-making, organisation and institution building was outstanding and commendable without any deviation from the principles of Sangh. Man-making is not a theory to be explained, but it is portrayed in the lives of individuals like Sarmaji, whose life illustrates without any words. He did whatever the organisation wanted him to do involving all his abilities in all the given roles,” said RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale.
He further said Sarmaji not only walked on the given road, he also made many others walk-along with him, and he himself became a path to be followed at the end. He was a teacher but also a student till the end of life. He penned several articles, editorials and drafted organisational papers, which when compiled could be beyond two thousand books, many as anonymous to fill the pages. He liberated himself for the divine duties, now it is for us to carry forward his ideals,” Shri Hosabale added.
Shri Lingala Narsimha Reddy, former judge of Patna High Court and director of KMES said, “Sarmaji was a towering figure in guidance and vision in making the KMES as one of the best sought colleges in the field for Engineering. He was instrumental in establishing and running Rachana Journalism College as an affiliate to Osmania University. On this stage, KMES has declared to offer a freeship in the name of Sarmiji for a complete Engineering course for a person, national level Memorial Lecture for every year on 29 June, and gold medal for the best outgoing student.

He lived an ideal life and became a role model for so many karyakartas, who are now shining examples of the society serving in various fields. Many other distinguished personalities also paid tribute.
