The glory that India had lost during the last 2000 years now seems to be getting restored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Yoga Diplomacy

Yogacharya Dr Varunveer
The image of the world leader that Bharat enjoyed for centuries due to its finest knowledge in different spheres of life including engineering, education, infrastructure, medical, economy and artificial to spiritual intelligence, seems have been restored by Prime Narendra Modi. Within three years as a Prime Minister he has established Indian dominance the worldover in the field of Yoga, philosophy and spirituality. Looking at his global image of a Vikas Purush, he can be termed as a perfect Karmayogi and a Rajayogi.
It is believed that a country remembers a Vikas Purush for 50 years, Rashtra Purush for 500 years and a Dharma Purush for 5000 years. If the Dharma Purush possesses any divine power, he is regarded as a god. There is no doubt that Shri Modi has spread the spiritual knowledge of India worldover and the people’s thinking about India as a spiritual leader has been strengthened. Yoga has contributed hugely to enhancing the Indian dominance in the world. It is because of Yoga diplomacy that many world leaders like Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping had to accept Indian power. No country, including the Islamic ones, is now untouched by Yoga. Many countries may be ahead of us in terms of technology, industrial development or even making weapons. But no country can be equal to India in terms of spiritual knowledge. Shri Modi helped the entire world to realise the rare knowledge of Yoga. The declaration of International Day for Yoga has enhanced India’s prestige.
Huge welcome of Shri Narendra Modi in the Buddhist world shows that after Emperor Ashoka, Shri Modi is the most respected person there. India is now a respected nation in the world even more than the respect that Bharat received after the historic Chicago speech of Swami Vivekananda. There is hardly any nation which now does not discuss about the personality of Modi. Special programmes are produced on their television channels in their respective languages. When I was in Hongkong last year I found four local intellectuals discussing Modi’s personality in their local Cantonese language. The picture that they repeatedly showed was that of Shri Modi sitting in ‘Dhyanmudra’. What acts as a magnate in the personality of Shri Modi world over is the confidence seen on his face and his firmness behind any decision he takes. One who has the knowledge of Yoga can see that two aspects of the Ashtang Yoga are visible in Modi — ‘Santosh’ and ‘Tapa’.
The glory that India had lost during the last 2000 years, now seems to be restored by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through Yoga diplomacy. The entire world is in the grip of Islamic terrorism. Donald Trump is openly speaking against it and also focusing on ‘Be American, Buy American’. No European country now seems to be in a position to influence the world. In this scenario, India offers the world peace through Yoga.
Many voluntary organisations or institutions have been promoting Yoga for years or decades. But Shri Modi has made it a global event. There is demand of trained Yoga instructors world over. We, through the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), deputed many senior Yoga trainers to different countries. They are not only for special events to be organised during International Day of Yoga, but they have been sent for a period of two years. Apparently, there is change in perception about India in the foreign countries. It is because of Yoga that
thousands of Indian Yoga instructors are working in China. Many countries, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Magnolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, etc, have come closer to India due to Yoga diplomacy. There is huge propagation of Yoga in the Central Asia also. There is huge demand of Yoga instructors in the African, European countries. Around five lakh Indian and foreigners have received employment through Yoga only in the world. There are companies and institutes in the world which are earning billions of dollars through Yoga. The number of people practicing Yoga world over is too in crores now.
(The writer is leading Yogacharya and tours world over for the promotion
of Yoga)
