(Indus Water Treaty—Exploring the Potential, March 19); This refers to article titled ‘Indus Water Treaty—Exploring the Potential’ by Ajay Bhardwaj in Organiser. It may be pointed out that Punjab and Haryana are bitterly fighting over the use of water through SYL ( Sutlej – Yamuna Link Canal ) Canal, where as Pakistan has been allowed to waste 50 per cent of the Chenab Water, all due to the appeasement policy of Nehru. Since no storage dam is feasible over Chenab in the plains of Pakistan, only 50 per cent of its water is being utilised by Pakistan and the rest falls into the sea. Almost entire catchment area of Indus Basin river falls in
truncated India and 47 per cent Indus Basin area falls in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. We were very much justified to claim 47 per cent of the total annual flow. A proposal to link Chenab River with Ravi was prepared by the Punjab engineers, but Nehru was bitterly opposed to it, so much that he would lose his temper at some of the meetings, because Nehru was in the habit of appeasement of Pakistan. Governments of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan must take up this issue of using Chenab waters and press the Central Government to take up this matter with Pakistan. Even if Pakistan does not agree, to rectify the treaty, India should unilaterally discard the 1960 Treaty, and must
use at least fifty per cent of the Chenab water.

Intellectual Participation in Making of New India
(Nationalist warrior turns 90, April 16); Ganesh Krishnan’s article titled ‘Nationalist warrior turns 90’ in Organiser is a detailed portrayal of Shri P Parameshwaran, a legendary nationalist thinker and former national General Secretary and Vice – President of Bharatiya Jana Sangh who sacrificed personal gains for the sake of spirit of nationalism. Different kinds of evils that have been eating into the vitals of our Hindu culture and tradition have been well delineated in the article. I am very happy to learn that the intellectual class have now started inspiring the country men to participate in the making of new India and have been exhorting them against the threat to our culture and tradition. It is high time that all of us became alert against traitors and taught the anti – national forces an unforgettable lesson. All the nationalists should observe the movements of the pseudo secular forces that support reservations based on religion due to their thirst for power despite culture and tradition of the nation being endangered and shattered.

Anti-Hindu Attitude, a Refractory Disease
It is quite an alarming thing to note that Hindu population has been gradually on the wane in India during the last two decades. The thing, even more strange and shocking is that it has been decreasing day by day in other countries too especially in Islamic countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan. Unfortunately the ruling parties in West Bengal, Telangana and some other anti BJP states—their only aim being retention of power by hook or crook—have been resorting to the steps thereby encouraging Muslim community and discouraging the Hindus. Rajashekar Reddy “s proposal to provide reservation to the Muslims in United Andhra Pradesh, KCR” firm decision on the same lines at present, Mamata Benerjee”s steps towards mushroom growth of madrasas and her insistence on the closure of the Vidya Bharati schools in West Bengal besides encouragement to immigrants from Bangladesh on one hand and their being unmindful of humiliation of Hindus exposes there anti- Hindu attitude, a refractory disease they are suffering from. The only way to get rid of such traitors is to give clear mandate against them in near future. It can be an unforgettable lesson for such forces.

Mission Bengal
To gain political power, the parties can do anything. It is proved with Trinamul Congress in West Bengal. Bengal was divided in 1905 and it was canceled due to public revolt against it. Again in 1947, it was done for the second time and Bengal was divided based on religion. Then the problems of the Hindus began and still they are in progress. Neither the Communist government nor the present Trinamul government has been doing anything for solving the problems of the Hindus in West Bengal. Even now where the Muslims are in majority they are not in a position to celebrate their festivals or conduct rallies. Playing political games, the Trinamul is ready to join hands even with the Communists or the Congress to face the fervor of Bharatiya Janata Party. In recent elections the BJP has got peoples” mandate and expecting the same in the East and the South. I hope when BJP comes into power in West Bengal, then only the infiltrators problems and other communal issues will be solved.

Abdullah Must Apologise National Conference president Farooq Abdullah’s desperation to win an election coming up in Kashmir is understandable, but what is despicable is that he should cock a snook at national security and integrity in the process. His recent remarks that the stone-pelters in the Kashmir Valley are engaging in the act in the nation’s interest, deserves to be fully condemned. It is nothing but a desperate attempt to be in the limelight. If, as per him, stone –pelters in the Valley are engaging in national interest, then what are the Indian Army and the Kashmiri Police doing at the borders? Only a few days ago, when heavy rains and snow had made life tough for the Kashmiri people, the Army came |
Uttar Pradesh will become Uttam Pradesh
Unprecedented victory of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Assembly polls and capturing power in two more states despite having no majority has dazed all the pseudo secularists and self- proclaimed messiahs of the Dalit Community who had adopted the Muslim appeasement policy just to capture votes. However prudent electorate taught very bitter lesson and showed the place they deserve. Instead of making introspection for their crushing defeat the have been attacking and trying to put BJP in dock. Coronation of firebrand MP Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh made them further baffled. These frustrated elements have realised that their political survival in future is uphill task and melancholy before BJP.

Misappropriation of
Funds by APP
Politicians in our country are really distortive when it comes to defending themselves against their misdemeanors. The Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, when cornered for misusing the taxpayer’s money which it used to defend a private defamation suit against its chief innovatively claimed that the legal fees of Rs 3.8 crore has to be borne by the people of the State in the interest of cricket. They yet came up with yet another satisfactory explanation for splurging over Rs 100 crore in a series of advertisements. Nothing short of a public whiplash against perpetrators of such misdeeds can correct the situation.

Positive Move
The Bharatiya Janata Party”s agenda to back up constitutional status to the National Commission for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes has brightened up its proposition and further evoked interest to extend helping hand to OBCs on par with BCs .This is a sequel of the results of recent elections, particularly the UP verdict. It”s a pointer that the Government has listened to the voice of OBCs and responded accordingly. This is what we want politicians to do. Well done. SEETHARAM BASANI,
