This Deepawali during a visit to Himachal Pradesh Shri Narendra Modi exhorted the people to show the same respect to uniformed soldiers as is done in other democracies. He said that the nation owed them for their sacrifices in safeguarding the borders so that the
citizens sleep peacefully. The Prime Minister must be commended for his thought. However, to take his vision
forward, the government must give
priority to the unfinished agenda of
one-rank-one-pension by removing all anomalies of the Seventh Pay Commission.

Farmers Should be Duly Rewarded
(Farmers should get competitive price of their produce, October 23); This refers to the report in the ‘News Round-Up’ page of Organiser titled ‘Farmers should get competitive price of their produce’. Farmers work hard all round the year and produce ‘Farm-Products’ for us but unfortunately they don’t get the due reward for their hard work. This section is still unorganised in our country despite seven decades of our country’s Independence. What is exactly happening is that our farmers are no doubt producing enough of ‘Farm-Products’, but there is no
coordination between demand and
supply, hence they are not in a position to sell their produce resulting in huge amount of damage to the produce. Despite of the fact that there is
development of Computer Science and Internet, we are not in a position to make a network and co-ordinate the things. Government should establish APMRAI (Agriculture Produce Market Regulatory Authority) in every district of our country, controlled by both Central and State Governments, to
monitor, control, and co-ordinate the demand and supply as per the region/sub-region, as this will enable a farmers to sell their produce at correct price, without keeping their
produce idle, and thus ‘Farmer’s Suicide’ can be avoided.

Schools Too Became a Victim
(Future on Fire, November,13); This refers to the article ‘Future on Fire’ by Deepak Zazia in Organiser. The heavenly peaceful Kashmir Valley has been a tragic victim of terrorism perpetrated by a
section of Islamic militants for many years. These mindless jihadis have almost stalled trade and commerce in the Valley, as also its main source of income –tourism. Now they have started burning school buildings. Education is the
foundation of tomorrow’s wealth and prosperity of a nation. By denying or maiming education to our future
generation, we are hindering the
community’s wellbeing. It is an attack on the future of the children and the culprits must be identified and punished. People must be part of the civil society. They must isolate the extremists to ensure that they don’t throw the future of young ones in the flames. More than 30 schools have been burnt. Obviously their intention is to deny education to Kashmiri children. Presumably, these religious fanatics want Kashmiri young men and women to go to madrasas and then join the separatist campaign, becoming stone-pelters, azadi slogan-shouters, helping in the advent of ‘Taliban-type society’.

Islam itself ‘Teaches Violence’
A number of write-ups and editorial in Organiser titled ‘Facilitate the Failing State’ dated October 2nd have
condemned Uri attack. Various options have been discussed for punitive action against Pakistan. However we must understand that it is not only Pakistan which is responsible for this dangerous situation. Twenty crore Muslims living in truncated Bharat are a big source of strength for the Pakistani terrorists to operate. Why we need border fencing to protect our country from terrorists and infiltrators? Why a weak country like Pakistan does not need border fencing? Why Pakistan is able to send terrorists? Why we can’t send terrorists to Pakistan? There are two main reasons for it. Firstly, because we are keeping inside our country an internal Pakistan of 20 crore Muslims, who are as bad as Pakistanis. They are a big source of strength for Pakistan. They are all responsible for creating their separate homeland Pakistan (including Bangladesh). The second reason is teaching of Islam, which does not allow a Muslim to treat others as human beings. Unless we understand these facts, we would never be able to take
effective and lasting action against Pakistan.

Real Problem Has Been Neglected
Emergency steps are being taken to curb the unprecedented damage done to the environment of the national capital. It is unfortunate that no authority has so far noted that the biggest cause of
environment damage is large – scale encroachment on footpaths and roads which lead to increased emissions from vehicles as they are stuck in traffic jams. Since authorities do not have the will to act, it is for the apex court and the National Green Tribunal to pass strict orders to ensure instant removal of these encroachments.

Stringent Action
The so-called liberals are beating their chests over the killing of eight SIMI activists by security forces. The militants were accused of heinous terror crimes like murder, blasts in various parts of the country, bank robberies, jail break etc. It is discouraging that, while the liberals call anti-India militants innocent, they fail to sympathise with the security guard who was killed by the militants before they escaped.

One fails to understand that what is wrong with the media which is hell bent to add fuel to the fire by supporting the liberals who have glamourised the
suicide of an ex-serviceman over
one-rank-one pension. Sadly no one is talking about the security guard who was killed by the terrorists who slit his throat while escaping from the jail. Time has come that the Government instead of being defensive, should
officially declare that whenever there is a jail-break, if any police personnel is killed during an operation, the terrorist must be killed. There is no need for any probe or clarification.
