Birth Centenary Celebration : Nation Salutes Deendayalji

Nationwide celebration of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Birth Centenary formally began on September 25. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the celebration in Kozhikode, Kerala, in the presence of galaxy of senior BJP leaders. A variety of functions were held on the day to pay tribute to the proponent of Integral Humanism. A memorial lecture was delivered in Bengaluru by national joint organising secretary of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Shri Mukul Kanitkar. Uttaranchal Utthan Parishad organised a discussion at Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology in Dehradun on September 24. Pro Vice Chanceller of Dev Sanskitri Viswavidhalaya Haridwar Dr Chinmaya Pandya, former Chairmen of Khadi and Gramodhyog Ayog Dr Mahesh Sharma, resident editor of ‘Dainik Jagran’ Shri Khushal Kothiyal, agriculture scientist Dr Shivander Kashyap, senior social worker Dr Mohan Singh Gaonwasi and environmentalist Shri Sachidanand Bharti joined the discussion. Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Prof Jagdish Mukhi unveiled a painting of Deendayalji at Deendayal Research Institute (DRI), New Delhi. There was five-day long celebration at Farah village of Mathura, the birth place of Deendayalji. Apart from BJP president Amit Shah, RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale was also present in Farah. An Akhand Jyoti was brought from Farah and was lit at DRI. The Government of India has constituted two committees involving leaders from various political parties to celebrate the birth centenary.
