Raichur: As part of the drought relief campaign, RSS swayamsevaks started a temporary Goushala at Gudihala Village in SindhanoorTaluk of Raichur District in Karnataka in last week of April. Prant Sah Karyavah Sridhar Nadgir inaugurated the Gaushala. Tirumala Rao Deshpande, noted farmer of Gudihala Village, temporarily donated his farmland for the Goushala.
Due to severe drought, hundreds of farmers of North Karnataka districts are facing severe problems while taking care of their cattle. Farmers have been urged to bring their cattle at the goushala, where they will be taken care of with fodder and shelter till the rainy season begins. “It is free service; any farmer can make use of this facility at the Goushala,” said RSS Prant Karyavah Shri Raghavendra Kagavad. The swayamsevaks have also initiated free-drinking water supply at several drought hit places of Raichur District. They also initiated free cattle feed
distribution centre at Ankalagi Village of Kalaburagi District.
Hearing in Rahul Gandhi defamation case till July 9
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on May 2 adjourned the hearing of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi”s plea seeking stay on the Bombay High Court order, refusing to quash the defamation case against him over his remark on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, till July 9.
The apex court had earlier in April adjourned the plea till second week of May. Rahul Gandhi had earlier urged the court to reject the defamation case filed against him by the RSS in March. According to reports, the Congress vice-president had also turned down the Supreme Court”s offer to express regret for his comment holding the RSS responsible for Mahatma Gandhi”s assassination and get the defamation case filed against him buried. n
Tribute to Bhupendra Kumar Bose in Cuttack
Cuttack: A condolence meeting was held in Cuttack Club Annex on May 2 to pay tribute to the late Bhupendra Kumar Bose. Scores of eminent
personalities recalled the contribution of Shri Bose in expanding and strengthening the Sangh work in the State. Bhupen Babu as Bhupendra Kumar Bose was pupularly known, passed away on April 24 at the age of 103.

Thousands of youth pledge to refrain from addiction
Ujjain: Thousands of Bajrang Dal activists from Malwa Prant pledged to refrain from any kind of addiction and also to persuade the people in their contact in this regard. The pledge was taken at the Hindu Yuva Kumbha organised in Ujjain on April 27. The function began with the speech of Sant Shri Ramdas Vedanti who called upon the Bajrangis to be dedicated to the cause of Bajrang Bali and Sri Ram.
Shri Sohan Singh, Prant organising secretary of VHP, informed that there are over 4,000 units in the Prant and they have conducted successful processions all over the Prant in connection with the golden jubilee of the VHP. He expressed concern over the growing incident of attacks on the workers who are engaged in the protection of the govansh. Kshetra secretary Shri Rajesh Tiwari said the Bajrang Dal would not allow any memorial, building or road in the name of Babur. He said the Indian youth today are being misguided through addiction and it is being done as part of a conspiracy. That is why he administered the pledge to refrain from any kind of addiction. RSS Prant Pracharak Shri Parag Abhyankar and Hemlata Didi also spoke.
Initiative for Integration and Distributive Justice
Chinmaya Academy of Management organised a public programme on the theme ‘Patronage to Partnership: Towards Integration and Distributive Justice’ on April 27 in Chennai. The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community have been traditionally disadvantaged due to social and geographical exclusion over the course of the time. Occupying close to 25 per cent of India’s population, this segment of the society today needs utmost attention, care and consideration in helping them integrate into the mainstream. Therefore, it remains imperative to understand the prevalent discourse among these communities in order to reform our pristine culture.
There were two significant programmes on April 27, which were addressed by prominent intellectuals from the subaltern community including Dr Sanjay Paswan, former Union Minister and presently National Executive Member of the BJP, Shri Milind Kamble, chairman of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Shri Ravi Kumar Narra, South India Chairman of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Swami Mitrananda, Acharya of Chinmaya Mission. The first programme on April 27 was round table on the inspiring initiative: Stand Up India, with relevant stakeholders from public sector banks, dalit entrepreneurs, academics and researchers. Stand Up India is an initiative of Union government to enable entrepreneurship among the SC/STs and women.
It followed a public programme on the topic of Patronage to Partnership, where all three speakers spoke extensively on how important it is for the narrative to shift from Patronage to Partnership in order to really empower the subaltern community. They interspersed their narration with their personal stories and tribulations, which gripped the audience.The public programme in the evening had representatives from the transgender community amongst students, researchers and local intelligentsia. In the spate of the recent incidents on maligning the public discourse on Dalit related issues, the event was an attempt to highlight the optimism in dalit discourse with respect to the vision of integration and distributive justice.
