Much before the latest revelations came in the Ishrat Jahan case and which surely is helping BJP to expose the conspiracy of the Congress, Dr Manish Pandit, a London based doctor and filmmaker had come out with daring short documentary on the subject. It exposed the real character of Ishrat Jahan. Though the documentary received wide applause abroad, in India no news channel (especially English medium) was ready to telecast it during the UPA-2 regime. (Watch the film at https://youtu.be/g7 kkrRAoZYM ). Organiser did an email interview with Dr Pandit. Excerpts:
Indian media refused to telecast your documentary in 2013. But on March 16, 2016, a story with your video embedded in it was carried on Firstpost. But, it was later deleted from the website. Any idea?
The Indian media refused to broadcast my film in 2014 and 2015. But the film went viral both online and on the ground and had a considerable impact. A news website based in India Firstpost carried an interview of mine and also carried the video film on March 16. However, four hours’ later the link mysteriously vanished from their website. Even after the entire night had passed the link did not come back online. In the four hours that the link was up, my interview had 1000’s of retweets both on Twitter and was shared on multiple platforms including Facebook.
However, luckily some enterprising Tweeple had saved a PDF copy of the entire Firstpost article on their Google drive. As you know, any attempt to delete something of such national importance online only has the opposite effect. The next day, my Twitter handle trended for quite some time and my interview went viral. Online magazine, OPINDIA, ran three separate articles on the film and a separate interview with me which also had very wide circulation. I’m still not aware why my interview was deleted off the Firstpost website. The original link to Firstpost article still shows a 404 error message as of now.
Recently, the BJP is blaming Sonia Gandhi behind the entire Ishrat conspiracy? What is your opinion?
Well, I have said before that a thorough investigation is needed into the Ishrat Jahan conspiracy. As you know, I exposed way back in 2013 that the entire case was cooked up to try and implicate PM Modi. It logically follows that somebody very high up in the then UPA Government must have been involved for this deed to have been done in this precise manner.
The responsibility for the entire situation rests with the highest person in office directly responsible for national security and therefore the buck must stop with the then Home Minister. He really needs to answer some very crucial questions right now. Nevertheless, the only persons that he would have taken orders from, are the then PM Manmohan Singh and the Gandhis.
I suspect that the reason why the BJP is implicating the Gandhis for this is that the only other person with the power to instruct the then Home Minister was Manmohan Singh, and it seems improbable that he would have done this, its a diagnosis of exclusion. I have one more hypothesis: It could be somebody with a long standing and more local but deep grudge against Narendra Modi who also wanted to stop Modi from becoming the PM candidate, but this hypothesis needs further investigation.
Why Congress would try to prevent Modi in 2008, 2009, 2010 etc when he was just Gujarat CM?
See, there were barely a handful candidates who the BJP could have fielded in 2014 as a PM candidate. Out of all those people, Narendra Modi has a serious reputation for being very serious on anti-corruption measures.
There are numerous people in India who say that they are serious on corruption, but Modi has actually walked the talk in Gujarat and has implemented stringent measures against corruption there. As you know, as of today, Modi has stopped black money economy in the capital New Delhi, so completely, that the property market in Delhi which used to run on this black money has nosedived.
I have other hunches why Modi was targeted, but without definite proof I would prefer to investigate further first.
