Kudos to Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Limited and specially to Organiser for bringing drastic change in the magazine during the last three  four weeks. Now when I go through the copy of Organiser I am reminded of the days of late K R Malkani and late VP Bhatia under whom each and every article of the weekly used to be a master piece. I hope the reading material which we as a reader are getting will continue  to pour. My best wishes to the family of Organiser.

Depleting of Ozone layer

With the Ozone layer getting depleted leading to the Green House effect, there is noticeable rise in the temperature across the world; more so in the Middle East. A number of countries from the region are witnessing Mercury crossing 50 degrees Celsius during June-July every year. The environmentalists have expressed the fear that the Gulf region may become uninhabitable in a few decades.

Refining Rituals

(Organiser,14.2.2016);It was very interesting to go through the article  “Refining Rituals” by Jyotirmaya in Organiser. We need to bring back the glories of our Vedic period in rituals and worship. There is complete freedom in Hinduism and it is open to reforms, logic and rationalism.  It is in-built in Hinduism to ask rational questions,  and nothing is acceptable unless one is intellectually convinced. No one can give any commandment to fellow being nor anyone  can issue fatwa to be obeyed. Hinduism is not a missionary based religion, but it is definitely more secular in its approach and open to views and logics. In Hinduism Ardhanareeshwara is the basic concept, where men and women play an equal role in the society and no ritual is complete without women participating in it.

Dry Taps in Delhi

Since last some weeks, Delhi is witnessing complete stoppage of tap water supply for a couple of days in sequence because of water treatment plants being closed due to abnormally high ammonia content in Yamuna water coming from industrial town of Panipat in bordering Haryana. Such interrupted tap water supply was hardly seen in yesteryears. Reports indicate that high ammonia content in river water is because of industrial waste coming from factories in Panipat. Central government should direct Haryana government to take immediate steps for controlling industrial waste going to river Yamuna. Also National Green Tribunal (NGT) should take suo-moto cognisance of the serious situation when citizens of Delhi are deprived of water which is the basic necessity of life.

Congress Supports Barbarism

The people who assaulted the Tanzanian girl were emboldened by the Congress government’s policy which was pursued in the last four months to glorify barbaric and mass murderer ‘Tipu Sultan’. It was the policy of appeasement followed by the Congress throughout Tipu controversy that encouraged the Muslims to indulge in large scale rioting without any fear of law resulting in the assault on Tanzanian student. This is not the first time that Muslims have reacted violently in road rage or accidents which have taken place in a Muslim dominated areas. As far as Rahul Gandhi is concerned he was busy gaining political mileage from Rohith”s death in Hyderabad, again a Muslim dominated city.
