Birth Centenary celebrations of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya begin from his birth place Nangla Chandrabhan in Mathura

Over 15,000 youth from different parts of the country assembled at Nangla Chandrabhan, the birth place of great philosopher, thinker, ideologue and the propounder of Integral Humanism Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya in Mathura, on September 25 to commemorate the birth centenary of the great thinker. The yatra started for national awakening by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) from four different directions of the country also culminated at Nangla Chandrabhan on the same day.
Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh exhorted the youth to use their talent and strength in nation building. “Bharat is the richest nation with regard to youth power. We have to channelise this strength in nation building. Till now financial help used to be provided to alleviate poverty. But now efforts are being made to make the youth self-reliant,” he said.
Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Shri Sarbananda Sonowal stressed the need to have positive thinking. The youth are blessed with the strength. If that strength is used for constructive work, the life becomes beautiful. And if that power is misused, it would prove to be costly to the entire nation. The thinking of Deendayalji leads us to the constructive path in the life.
Shri Vishnu Datt Sharma, national vice president of NYKS focussed on how Bharatiya youth are playing a leading role in the world. Senior BJP leader Shri Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said Deendayalji dedicated his life to the nation. Major General (retd) Dilawar Singh, Director General of NYKS, also spoke on the occasion.
There are reports of organising functions across the country to celebrate birth centenary of the great thinker. Union Ministry of Culture organised a function at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Auditorium in Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Smt Sumitra Mahajan stressed the need to move forward following the ideals of Deendayalji. ‘The Integral Humanism and Antyodaya are the mantras for balanced growth’, she exclaimed with confidence.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley while recalling the towering personality of Deendayalji said at the time when nobody even thought of thinking about the then Prime Minister Pt Nehru and his actions, Deendayalji created a new political party based on different thinking at the age of 34 and presented an alternate model of development based on pure nationalism. He displayed the capacity not only to create the organisation but also of creating a band of dedicated workers across the country. “His birth centenary is an opportunity before us to materialise his thinking in action. And we are doing that,” he said.
Shri Rajnath Singh said, “The government is committed to make the last person of the society self-reliant so that none should be dependent on others and all should ensure their own development with respect. In this way the entire society has to be made self-reliant and capable.” Presiding over the function Union Minister of State for Culture Dr Mahesh Sharma said that the government is committed to take the fruits of power to every person of the society.
