News Round-up : Unique initiative by BKS for promotion of plants at bare land
Inspired by Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), nearly 60 members of Utthistha Bharatha, a youth voluntary organisation of Bengaluru actively dedicated their Sunday (June 28) to prepare nearly 5,000 ‘Seed Balls’ in outskirts of the city. They also planted some plants near Nelamangala.
“Seed Ball is a unique concept in which seed of a plant are carefully covered with mud (soil) with nutritive content. It is thrown to bare area, where there is no vegetation at all. Upon falling on the ground during the rainy season the mud coat dissolves and seeds get germinated establishing its growth. Nearly 40-50 per cent is the chance of survival,” says Shri Gangadhar Kasaraghatta, State organising secretary of BKS Karnataka. Shri Gangadhar has been promoting the seed ball campaign since last two years. As a result, more than 8,000 plants have been grown in Karnataka through the initiative, especially in Tumakuru, Kolar, Doddaballapura, Ramanagara districts.

With the message of Save ‘Girl Child, Save Tomorrow’, the 19th Sindhu Darshan Yatra completed on June 26 in Leh. About 1,000 people from different parts of the country participated in the event. Some people from USA and UAE also joined it.
A function was organised at the premises of Saraswati Vidya Niketan and Sindhu Bhavan in Leh to welcome the pilgrims on June 23. Local people in good number also attended the function. Artists from North Zone Culture Centre Patiala and school children presented cultural performances.
Addressing the gathering patron of Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti and senior Sangh Pracharak Shri Indresh Kumar appealed to the people to save girl child and respect the women. He also called upon the people to pledge to allow girls to perform last rites. He said the Yatra is a medium of uniting the people.
Sindhu Darshan festival began on June 24 by performing Sindhu Puja. The function was presided over by Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju. Shri Tokdan Rinphche, former president of All Ladakh Gompa Association was the chief guest. J&K State Assembly Speaker Kavindra Gupta, deputy chief Minister of the State Dr Nirmal Singh and education minister of Haryana Ramvilas Sharma were also present on the occasion.

BMS suggestions to government on Land Acquisition Bill
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the country’s premier labour organisation, has suggested the Union Government to extend employment security to the landless labourers and replace the word ‘farm labourer’ with the ‘landless farm labourer’, ‘farm related artisans’ in the Land Acquisition Bill. The suggestions were given to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Bill on June 22 in Delhi.
The BMS also suggested that proper steps should be taken for skill development of landless labourers and if it needs, amend the laws also for it. Apart from many other suggestions the BMS also suggested to create a national land use authority with immediate effect. It was also suggested that about 18,023 acre land which was acquired for SEZ but has not yet been utilised so far be acquired again and properly utilised. Apart from it, around two lakh acre lands lying unutilised with the PSUs should be utilised after reacquiring it. The BMS also suggested to use the land which was acquired 68 years back for industries and which have been closed down. It will be a valid suggestion as there are already basic facilities like water, electricity, roads, banks etc there.

Everyone should join any of the sewa activity: Suresh
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pracharak Pramukh Shri Suresh called upon the people to join any of the sewa activity in their vicinity. He was speaking at a function organised in Jodhpur on June 27 to dedicate three mobile sewa vehicles. He also exhorted the people to protect the cow and her progeny as she is the backbone of the economy and village life. Among the three vehicles dedicated on the occasion included one for Gou Sewa, especially to use as ambulance for transporting the injured cows. The second is for cremation of dead bodies and the third is for selling cow based products. Kshetra Pracharak Shri Durgadas, Prant Pracharak Shri Murlidhar and senior Pracharak Shri Hari Om were also present on the occasion. Turn jails into
Goupalan Kendras: VHP
The three-day Kendriya Prabandh Samiti meeting of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) which concluded in Bhilwada (Rajasthan) on June 30, appealed to the Government to turn the jails and Saink Farms in the country into Goupalan Kendras. It also said to include cow protection in school curriculum. The meeting demanded protection and promotion of the Indian breeds of cow and also ban on meat export. The VHP said granting licenses to slaughter houses in the name of food security should also stop forthwith and any subsidy to the slaughter houses should be stopped immediately. Creation of cow sanctuaries was also demanded. Apart from VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia, general secretary Shri Champat Rai and organising secretary Shri Dinesh Chandra, many VHP
leaders attended the meeting, which also passed several
other resolutions.

Teachings of Sri Guru Granth Saheb for welfare of all
Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh Governor Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki appealed to the people to follow the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Saheb in practical life as they are for welfare of every creature in the universe. He was speaking at a seminar organised by Sangat Sansar Society in Mohali recently. Noted writer and retired IPS Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura who presided over the function said Sri Guru Granth Saheb shows the way for living a purposeful life. Sardar Gurucharan Singh Gil, president of Sangat Sansar Society, also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Vice Chancellor of Himachal University Dharamshala, Dr Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri said the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus is unparallel and they are golden pages of India’s history. General secretary of the Sangat Sansar Society Shri Avinash Jaiswal also spoke.
