Kamathji's writings were sober, deep, educative and illuminating. He was never an extremist.The fact that he wrote till his last breath, has proved him as a Karma Yogi. I was favoured about a decade ago, by Kamathji by replying to my letters. My humble shraddhanjali to him.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave special charge of cleaning the River Ganga to Uma Bharti when he appointed her Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. An enlarged ministry bringing together departments that previously functioned under different heads. She has a huge challenge ahead but by suggesting now that electric crematoriums should not be used near riverbanks and that all bodies should instead be burnt in the traditional style with wood , Bharti is harming rather helping her ministry’s cause. Electric cremations are not only costless but they are much more environment friendly. Ironically she gave this suggestion at a conference on cleaning India’s rivers, telling environmentalists that religious leaders do not approve of electric cremations. This may well be true of some religious leaders and the minister is also entitled to her personal religious beliefs. But none of this should get in the way of setting appropriate policies in a matter that will directly affect the future of millions of Indians.

Poor Results
The BJP leaders were appalled by the poor performance of their party in the recently held elections in Uttar Pradesh.But it was destined to be so because if Mayawati had participated in the polls, Dalit votes would not have gone to the Samajwadi Party. Similarly if Congress would have got a significant number of votes since it has been patronising the Muslims for the last 68 years,SP would not have got all the Muslim votes and the BJP would have performed well. Let us take another example. if AAP and Congress had not snatched all the Dalit and the Muslim votes in the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi , BJP’s victory would not have been so spectacular.

Is this the beginning of Indian Renaissance?
(Organiser, 5.10. 2014);The article titled ‘Is this the beginning of Indian Renaissance? ’ by late M V Kamath in Organiser predicts a rosy picture and a rebirth for Bharat. Shri M V Kamath’s optimistic outlook in the coming years with Shri Narendra Modi at the helm of the affairs, a man with resolve and caution, pride and patriotism will certainly steer the future of Bharat in the right direction. The Opposition and diehard pessimists should shed their selfishness and irresponsible comments and join hands to see Bharat progress and prosper. The media too has a committed role to play in that it approaches the plans and issues positively and impartially. As Shri Kamath has rightly pointed out, “Development of economic corridors, infrastructure and transport system” all this and all the more , the co-operation of every citizen of Bharat is very important and it is in their hands, power and responsibility to reverse the bleak situation prevailing in the country.Shri Kamath has rightly said, “Is this the beginning of Indian Renaissance ?Yes! Certainly it is no longer a dream or illusion but a reality that will take Bharat to a new dawn. Let us all pledge to strengthen the hands of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”
(Organiser, 22.6.2014); This refers to the article ‘ Shakti Epitomised ‘ by Aniket Raja in Organiser, page 47. The article was quite informative. Women in our country have shown courage and valour from time immemorial. I happened to visit the birth place of Rani Lakshmi Bai in Kashi a year back and it was pity to see it in shambles , where there should have been a grand memorial. Similar is the case of another freedom fighter called Rani Chennamma of Kittur in Belgaum district of Karnataka State, who died fighting against the British as she was betrayed by her own men.
